1023 - A nice Vauxhall sauceboat, replacement handle
Decorated with a landscape in the cartouche.
This high rococo style was continued when Nicholas Crisp moved to Bovey Tracey in 1766 and thereafter the Plymouth porcelain factory of William Cookworthy made a similar model. 15 cms long.
Typically sauceboats of this type retail between £1300 and £1500. This sauceboat can be offered at this price because it has a replacement handle, professionally modelled from an original so wholly authentic. There is a firing crack underneath the foot.
